Sleeping Kids
We got these air mattresses for the kids to sleep on. And sleep they do. They were still sleeping at 11AM, so I decided to wake them with the flash.
I stopped down the lens so that I needed a 4 or 5 second exposure. I hand held the 430EX and pointed it at my son. The grid really cut down on the beam, as seen earlier. When the camera fired, it tripped the ebay remote and my son was zapped at 1/4 power. Then I pointed it at my daughter and manually tripped it before the shutter closed. With fresh batteries, there was no recycle time for the 430EX.
As a result, I have light on my faces of my two angels. =)
Oh, and BTW, these teens never woke up. I made about 30 tries. It was only the smell of breakfast near noon o’clock that woke ’em up.
I know that I thank Strobist all the time for inspiring me to take my flash off the camera, but it is true. Before, I was a picture taker. These days, I am a much more thoughtful camera user, and I think I might be on my way to being a photographer.
